I wonder if Secubot is aware of the facility’s extreme level of degradation? I highly doubt that maintenance and stasis are still things that function. In fact, based on the appearance of stasis, I doubt that residents are still things that function. I also doubt that Cait will recover from any unwellnes without access to fresh air, safe food, and functioning medical facilities, all of which the facility seems to lack.
It is quite possible it isn’t aware of the severe condition the facility is in otherwise it would have detected systems failure all over the place, it is possible that Roxy is also potentially defective in their own manner more than we have seen, though their display of personality and willingness to aid a resident is very likely to be part of their base programming. The Security bot seems to have been jury rigged by whom ever was running the place to do a job it wasn’t originally meant for so it is possible it also doesn’t have the programming necessary annalyze the new situation and to realize something is wrong beyond its primary objectives and that it might actually be doing more harm than good at this point. But so far we haven’t seen very much so this conjecture can only go so far. I am excited to see what happens next.
@Hirobian: .. i think.. because of all the cables. that the MCP (Main Computer Processer) tried to make itself mobile when the maintenance went off-line.. but because the secubots are “Hard coded” for safety, the MCP defaulted to the “base” code of the secubot.. which drove em both mad..
..wood not be surprised if they had the Smeagol , Gollum complex….
I had assumed that Secubot and those other robots did that themselves for some reason or another. Possibly an attempt at compensating for deteriorating resources. I do agree that it might simply be that its programming is too simple or rigid for it to understand the situation or adapt, though. As for Roxy, they implied that they shouldn’t be able to feel emotions and are acting extremely unusually. My best guess is that, to borrow some terminology from Bungee, Roxy went rampant while in sleep mode and either achieved meta-stability in that time, or is well into the process of doing so.
this is all my conjecture… im Not the artist.. im just posting my hypotheses ..
and still guessing here… but it looked like something put everything into sleep mode all at once.. a little after the “incident”.
..like the humans that were left (not altered.) , rebelled against the incident lock down (damage to Roxy.) , shut down everything, an left… (an since Roxy was damaged, was not included in the mass configuration.. )
Roxy’s last memory, according to 48-story, was of going into a routine stand-by mode, suggesting that nothing out of the ordinary took them offline and they simply didn’t have a reason to activate the whole time. It seems most likely that they went into sleep mode to save power, as their functions are non-essential when all residents are in stasis, and were set to reactivate the next time their sensors picked up activity or they received a command. In the time since they went into routine stand-by, something prevented any residents from exiting stasis and the structural integrity of their room remained relatively sound, so there was nothing for the sensors to pick up. Their either wasn’t a routine wake-up signal or whatever kept the residents locked in stasis also disabled the signal. And since their were no residents, nothing in Roxy’s department, Storage, was ever required, so they simply weren’t sent an activation command. It’s also possible that the event that caused the current situation also took out the central computer, or at least its wireless networking ability, cutting off all of the service droids from the network. This may explain the cabling connected to Secubot and the others. Regardless, according to Roxy’s internal clock, they’ve been in stand-by for almost 856 years (see 21-sorted), so I think the damage is almost certainly natural rusting.
..I think.. secubot is quite mad(crazy),, an is following it’s base program .. and it sees the ‘degradation’ an lack of functions, but those are outside of base programing, to be as a null program…
Cait.. is well.. but, is outside of base parameters (mouse not human.) ,, so it sees it as “unwell”..
Er, my comment below this comment was meant to be a response to this comment, but apparently I accidentally just made a regular comment instead of a reply.
It looks like it could be that robot, but where was it stated that it’s purpose was retrieval or that it’s last command was to retrieve the bag? It looked like it was in sleep mode, suggesting nothing took it offline before it could complete a command, and Cait definitely didn’t command it.

it’s the “retrieval” droid from comic 15 (April 20 2019)..
it repaired itself , an is now trying to retrieve it’s last command (her bag)..
