sonic shower =The sonic shower was a technology that used sonic pulse vibrations to remove dirt and grime, contaminants and possibly dead skin from a humanoid body.
I actually tried avoiding making a direct reference to those sonic showers from Star Trek but I suppose there isn’t much else that could be from the looks of it. I mean, its possible its using some fancy energy to clean instead. Gotta sci-fi it up right? I tried. 😛
It makes sense that it is waterless due to the need to conserve as much water as possible, especially with the rationing protocol in effect. I wonder if this facility is designed to be some kind of fallout shelter for some R&D component of a companythat has long since gone defunct/deserted.
actually the “waterless shower” was not a Star Trek invention ,,, it has been used in other sci-fi,, since the 50’s (just the first major use in media.)..
that is how the “ultrasonic” came to be…
im kind of a sci-fi,, nerd, dweeb, dork, all the above.. an have all kinds of useless info..
like, did you know: the “taser” ‘s name actually means something..?
Tom Swift Electric Rifle..
So is it like some sort of microwave, or is the water just not working?
Yikes, good thing it isn’t too loud… that could have easily need a painful ear ringing experience on the right frequencies and volume.
been* not need.
That would be a sonic shower most likely.
Looks like a sonic shower.

A good wash would have been lovely, but of course it’s waterless. She’s going to need a good soak eventually.

Problem with a water shower is getting dry with all that fur and not being left with a wet mouse smell afterwards.

That is neat, I did not know of previous iterations of the concept.
